Testimonials

Read these quotes from trainers and site leaders to find out how Science Action Club has impacted out-of-school time (OST) programs in the Bay Area and beyond.

"Science Action Club allows kids to actively take on the scientific research process and apply it to their local environment, where they live. It's about giving kids—no matter where they are—access to science." — Director of Alaska Afterschool Network

“What I mostly enjoy is the new information students can grasp and take into their daily lives. I enjoy all the fun and well-informed lessons. I think this is very helpful to everyone and not just the students. I like that the lessons cover worldwide issues such as pollution. I believe that these fun activities and lessons help increase the student's curiosity.” — Anaheim YMCA Walter Elementary Activity Leader

“SAC materials opened the eyes of many of our kids to the world around them! Even though we live in a small town in a fairly urban area, many of our young people were not "seeing" where they live. When we spoke of doing a bird study, one of the students said "Birds; we don't have any birds around here!" Your material opened his eyes and those of his fellow campers. We saw that Science Action Club truly engages young people in a broader vision of their world.” — Sisterhood Inc. Camp Directors, Burlington, New Jersey

“I really enjoy how interactive SAC is. I genuinely feel like I’m teaching students something they actually enjoy. I really enjoy the activities, and most of my students really look forward to our SAC days. I enjoy the amount of diversity in the curriculum and appreciate how we are provided with everything we need in the kit.” — Anaheim YMCA Activity Leader

“The girls loved it. This program is radiating with all the thought, knowledge and love that your SAC team put into creating it. It is amazing..” — Mill Valley Homeschool Group Activity Leader

I really enjoyed the online training because I can go at my own pace and come back to the videos at any time to review the materials needed for the activities.” — California School Age Consortium Trainer

“I enjoyed how straightforward and easy it is to follow while making things fresh and entertaining for the students. The split between inside and outside work was perfectly estimated where it kept my students fully engaged and ready for the next assignment. With all the materials already provided, it made delivering the overall lesson much easier. This activity allowed the students who were usually shy to participate and engage. I had a student tell me they felt they ‘contributed equally to the scientific process.’ Win-win if you ask me!” — Dingle Elementary School Activity Leader
