Embark on a journey into the hidden world of coral reefs in Expedition Reef—the Academy's newest all-digital, fulldome planetarium show exploring some of our planet’s most biodiverse—and critically threatened—ecosystems.

Dive into the heart of the Academy’s iconic Philippine Coral Reef tank as thousands of tropical fish flutter by. Travel the globe to explore coral reefs teeming with life and learn how scientists are racing to develop sustainable solutions to protect these vitally important ecosystems for the future. Along the way, discover how corals live, breathe, and reproduce, supporting a quarter of all marine life on Earth and providing critical benefits to human communities in our ever-changing world.

Please note: Planetarium shows may not be appropriate for children under 7, and children under 4 are not permitted. See Parent Tips for recommendations on kid-friendly attractions at the Academy.

Seating in the planetarium is limited and passes are handed out on a first-come, first-served basis. Visit the Planetarium Pass Pick-up desk to pick up your passes. School and youth groups must have advance reservations in a school show to attend the planetarium. We do not accept walkup requests on the day of your field trip.

Planetarium schedule subject to change due to exhibit closures or special events.
