The stars we see in the night sky represent many different stages in the lifetimes of distant suns, from their births in gaseous nebulae, to their element-building maturity, to their (sometimes) explosive ends. What are the different pathways that stars take during their existence, and what is the ultimate destiny of the nearest star to us?
